Art Docent Program

Picture
WHAT IS IT?
The art docent program is run by parent volunteers and funded through our CRES PTO. This program creates an opportunity to spend time in the classroom and teach about a specific artist and execute an art project. Ideally, we would like to have one art docent for each class in grades K-5.

WHAT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE?
We partner with Green River College and their art program for training.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
As an art docent, you will be in the classroom for approximately an hour once a month to teach/assist another docent during an art lesson. You do not need an art background and will receive a complete training. We will provide you with the artist's information and project materials for each month.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
More than one volunteer per class is welcome to participate . Sometimes it's more fun to have a few volunteers together or taking turns. You must register as a Tahoma School District Volunteer in order to participate in this program, for more information email artdocent@crespto.net.
