Cedar River Elementary School PTO Endorses Tahoma School District Levies Cedar River Elementary School PTO voted to endorse the Tahoma School District Levies that are for ballot in February 2020. We join a list of supporters including other parent groups, Maple Valley City Council, Seattle King County Realtors (SKCR), Tahoma Education Association, Tahoma Public School employees and 5th district legislators. These levies directly impact our students and staff. The two measures include: A 4-year replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levy, which would take the place of the current levy that expires in 2020. It would help maintain current staff and programs, and would cost about 50 cents more per $1,000 assessed value than the current rate. The second measure is a 4-year Technology Levy, which would help fund the Technology Plan that a committee of parents, students, staff and community members helped develop after months of study and discussion. It would cost about 47 cents per $1,000 assessed value the first year, 48 cents the second year, 44 cents the third year and 40 cents the last year.
